Vomiting in dogs: mechanisms, causes, consequences and management

Evening seminar by Alex German BVSc, PhD, DipECVIM-ca, Cert SAM MRCVS

Vomiting is a common reason for owners to seek veterinary advice. This evening session will cover the basis of the emetic reflex, as well as the causes and consequences of vomiting. The session will then discuss the latest thoughts and recommendations on the management of emesis in dogs.

Venue: Easter Bush Veterinary Centre

Please join us for a drink and a buffet from 6.45pm. The lecture will start at 7.30pm and finish at around 9.30pm with a short break in the middle.

Fee: Vets £45, Nurses £25. (includes all refreshments and seminar notes)

The new University of Edinburgh Postgraduate website has been launched and the following programmes are now available in Veterinary Medicine. Check out the Postgraduate Programmes Online website too.

Click on the links below to access more information on each programme:

Infectious Diseases and Veterinary Science are full-time programmes, but the other programmes have a part-time or online option.

Clinical Education and International Animal Health are both delivered online, allowing you to participate in the programmes wherever you are located and at a time that suits you. The new Equine Science and Emerging and Neglected Infectious Diseases online courses will be launched this year.

A degree in veterinary science is not always essential - many of these programmes are open to students with degrees in science or medicine, or with appropriate professional experience. Don’t miss out on your chance - follow the links and enquire today!

BVA Congress 2008

The Vet CPD Team will be attending the BVA Congress 2008 (September 25-27). The theme of the Congress this year is ‘Vets in a changing environment’ and it will be held in the Royal College of Physicians, London. Come along and meet the team!

The R(D)SVS is also proud to be the sponsor of the orthopaedics session on cruciate ligaments. This session is running on Friday 26th from 14.30-15.30 - we look forward to seeing you there.
